The experience of teaching community languages
This month, we will continue learning more about Heritage Language Schools in Ireland through a presentation by one of our members, Cloé Rolin from FrenchMinded, to best understand the full experience of multilingual children who attend weekend/complementary/heritage language classes.
We will also welcome a guest, Inmaculada Gómez Soler, who is an Assistant Professor at the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies, DCU. Inma has a PhD in Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition from the University of North Carolina, USA. Gómez Soler’s most recent projects examine the factors that contribute to heritage language maintenance within the school context and the role that teachers play in this process.
Every meeting is an opportunity to get together, learn, share experiences and network!
