Our next education network meeting will be on Scaffolding: what is it? How to do it and why? will take place on Wednesday 13th of April at 7 pm via Zoom (free but registration needed, see below).

Scaffolding is one of the best ways that a teacher can help ESL students. Scaffolding usually refers to teaching practices that initially set a high goal for students to attain, then, recognizing the skills the students have, build up their skills to meet that goal. Sophie Cocault, EAL Project Worker, Full Service Community Network Belfast and Hilary Brennan, EAL Teacher, St Clare’s Primary School in Belfast will join us for a live discussion on the 13th of April 7-8pm!

The All-Island Education Network is an online community of practice created by Mother Tongues and Full Service Community Network for teachers and practitioners in education settings North and South of the border interested in the themes of teaching EAL learners in the mainstream classroom, multilingual approaches in the classroom and developing home/school communication with migrant families.
